I would give this restaurant less stars if I could. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years and it had become a tradition for our family. The only thing different about our trip this year was that I found out that I had a SEVERE gluten allergy. I informed the owner and my waiter of my severe allergy and the owner himself said that I was in good hands. I ordered the scallops casino and informed my waiter that I have a severe allergy and that I was not able to have the pasta with my meal due to the gluten. I decided to have mashed potatoes as my side dish rather than pasta. I also had a salad for an appetizer and when I told the waiter no croutons due to he gluten he looked confused until I had to explain to him why I couldn’t have croutons due to the gluten. While waiting for our meal, our waiter did not refill our water glasses the entire time until we decided to ask. The waiter also messed up some drink orders at our table and brought the appetizers to half of our table and then forget about our other half of appetizers until we asked him about them and he brought them right out after claiming he was told they were not ready. After nearly an hour of waiting, the waiter brought it table our food and my dish came with pasta. When I got my dish I asked my waiter if my dish was definitely gluten free and he said yes without hesitating until I asked him to double check with the kitchen. It was after that that he returned to our table to tell us he had grabbed the wrong plate by mistake. We spoke to the owner because we were so disgusted and he told us the waiter should’ve known that there was no gluten free pasta. I will never go back to this restaurant again. Food is not worth the price, unknowledgeable and not caring staff. Attached is the picture of my meal that was NOT gluten free. Save your money.
Must say, the Scallops Gargonzola was the single most fantastic dish either my wife or I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy!
You can bet we're going back to Yarmouth House next time we're on the Cape! We want to sample many more of their offerings!
Yes, our reservation time had been written in wrong, however, we were still seated right away. Yes, our (elderly) waiter seemed a bit "tiffed" when we wanted neither cocktails nor starters, but the warm fresh bread and the infused oil he brought told us we were in for a treat!
My husband and I had a relaxing meal and cocktails. The food was wonderful and our waitress worked on our timetable. We both had seafood We had different desserts and brought one home to our son. We all enjoyed
A great place for steak, cocktails and excellent service. Got the baked haddock it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our waiter knew what we needed without having to ask, very attentive. Can't wait to go back.
Then our dinner arrived; piping hot and so fantastic all I could do when our waiter came to ask how it was was laugh around a mouthful! (My wife was too busy to do anything but nod and smile!) He smiled, nodded (he understood, evidently) and left us to enjoy!
Great food and service expensive but nice for a special occasion.
