This is where the review goes downhill. My 'frozen lemonade' wasn't actually frozen at all. What I received was a cup full of crushed ice cubes with barely sweetened lemonade poured over top. A terrible display of frozen beverage art.
Moral of the story; don't order frozen lemonade at Ella's.
Disappointed with my purchase, I pulled into 7-11 for a true frozen beverage experience.
Get the ice cream!
I'm not normally one to complain, and I would have happily just drank the lemonade over ice, but the lemonade was horrible. It tasted like they poured lemon juice into some water and then poured it over the ice.
I ordered a cake for my son's birthday. I was thrilled when I picked it up. The decor on the cake was perfect, copied from a picture I had dropped off. The next day when the party took place, my son was also thrilled. We sang, carved up the cake and every person at the party made a comment on how delicious it was. I had chosen a chocolate and almond/vanilla cake with a chocolate middle and vanilla frosting. Ella's bakery did a wonderful job and I would definitely order from them again.
Edit: They also have 'frozen hot chocolate' on the menu. I can only imagine YooHoo being poured over crushed ice.
Ella's Bakery is a fantastic little bakery very close to downtown Hyannis and a perfect spot to satisfy your sweet tooth during your summer Cape visit. We were greeted by a charming mother/daughter team who charismatically assisted us and even provided samples of several flavors of their cakes (which were delicious). I highly recommend this quaint little place!
Have you ever gone somewhere in a great mood, only to have the atmosphere/customer service ruin it? This place did the opposite for me today. I was hangry... I'd missed lunch and NEEDED a sandwich. I didn't notice the bakery had closed, but I was greeted with a contagious smile at the ice cream window - and yes, these kind souls reopened to make me my sandwich (and homemade chips)! Luckily for me, I live down the street. I'm so glad I finally stopped in, and I will definitely be back.
I went to this bakery today with 3 of my kids to decorate Gingerbread houses. I have been meaning to go all year as I drive by it on my way to work. My kids and I had a wonderful time. The owners are very pleasant and attentive. There was a ton of candy and frosting, good Christmas music, and a great Time was had by all. I’m always looking for ways to keep a little of my money local and if you are looking for a fun way to spend an hour to an hour and a half I’d highly recommend checking this place out. We might be back next weekend for cookie decorating!
I stood back and waited for my frozen delight to reach my hands. I waited as other orders went out ahead of mine, starting to notice several employees running around trying to complete my order.
First off, I'd like to say that Ella's has fantastic ice cream and a variety of interesting flavors to choose from with good customer service to match.
I was on vacation recently and stopped by Ella's after a grueling game of putt putt. Since dairy doesn't sit too well with me, I decided to get a 'frozen lemonade'. The girl behind the counter was excited when I order it saying that she LOVED frozen lemonade. I was stoked, to say the least.
After a couple of minutes of watching employees run back and forth, I got concerned. A moment later, I was handed a to-go cup with a lid and a spoon. Excited for my treat, I thanked them and left.
